Borrowers may place their own holds on items that are currently on loan, via the library catalogue. Students are entitled to a maximum of 3 holds at one time.
- On the catalogue, perform a search for the item that you require
- Select the correct title record from the retrieved list
- Click on the Hold button that appears with each record retrieved
- On the Place a Hold request page, check the selected record is correct
- Enter your student/staff number and your 4 digit PIN
- Click on the Hold button
- You will receive a Hold Successful message
- If you have an email address registered with the library, you will receive an email notification when the item is available for pick up at the Customer Service desk on Level 1
- The item will be held at the Customer Service desk for seven days for you to collect.
Note: Your PIN will automatically be set as the last four digits of your student/staff number. For help, contact the library by phone, email or live chat.
To cancel a hold you first need to log into the library catalogue.
- Enter your student/staff number and your 4 digit PIN and click on the Login button
- Click on ‘My Library Account’ under the Logout button
- Click on 'holds' to view all the items on which you have placed a hold
- Click in the tick box beside the title of the hold you wish to cancel
- Click on 'remove selected holds' button
- You will receive confirmation that the hold has been cancelled
